Your connected accounting platform stays the system of record.

The work behind the numbers

More than document extraction.

Keep preparation, exceptions, approvals and follow-through in one finance workspace, with a path back to the evidence.

01Capture & review

Documents become evidence

Upload invoices, vendor bills, receipts and bank statements. Review extracted counterparties, line items, tax and totals alongside the source document.

02Prepare & approve

Proposals before changes

Inspect the proposed accounting action, source evidence and the model’s self-rated confidence, which is not a measure of accuracy. Resolve missing information and duplicate warnings before an authorised reviewer decides.

03Match & investigate

Reconciliation with context

Review statement lines, suggested matches and unresolved exceptions. Provider-side reconciliation effects depend on your accounting connection.

04Monitor & follow up

Receivables, payables and cash flow

Review aging, overdue items, collections work and due-date cash-flow outlooks from available records. A due-date outlook is not a bank balance or a prediction that funds will arrive. Missing financial evidence stays visible.

05Close & explain

Close and reporting

Track close periods, blockers and sign-off work. Bring financial statements, tax evidence and exports into the review process, with country-specific reports clearly scoped.

06Record & report

Native accounting books

Configure a chart of accounts and posting periods, prepare journal drafts, and review posted journals, trial balances, profit and loss and balance sheets. Native books are separate from connected provider ledgers.

07Find & prioritise

Operations agents that flag work

Enable entity-specific checks for document failures, duplicates, close blockers, overdue collections and integration issues. Agents raise recommendations; your team handles the decisions.

KOI in practice

A bill arrives.
A controlled workflow follows.

Finance teams prepare and review. Accounting firms can work with client-granted access. Roles and legal entities define where each person can act.

  1. 01

    Capture the source

Upload a vendor bill or bring in records from a connected ledger. Keep the original evidence available for review.

  2. 02

    Prepare the proposal

KOI extracts the details and prepares the accounting draft. Your team checks the evidence and resolves exceptions.

  3. 03

    Review and authorise

An authorised reviewer approves by default. The AI cannot grant itself permission to change the books.

  4. 04

    Keep the decision

For a supported connected workflow, KOI writes the approved result and records its destination, evidence and approval history.

Your finance workspace, your AI assistant

Work through Claude or ChatGPT.

Use KOI’s built-in Copilot, or connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another compatible AI client to search evidence, inspect proposals and ask about aging and cash flow.

External connections use MCP and a key pinned to one legal entity. Read access is the default. Explicitly scoped action tools prepare review requests; they cannot approve or write directly to an accounting provider.

Questions to bring to KOI

  • “Which invoices and bills are due in the next 30 days?”
  • “Show me recent proposal failures and their evidence.”
  • “Prepare this vendor bill for review.”

Illustrative prompts. Answers depend on your records, permissions and enabled tools.

Control is part of the workflow.

Approval with attribution
A person approves proposals before write-back. Optional policies evaluate and log eligibility without approving changes. Keep the source evidence, human decision and written result together.
Separate books, explicit context
Work by legal entity with explicit currencies, fiscal calendars and accounting time zones. Role-based access and exact currency amounts support accountable review across teams and clients.

Before you get started

Do we need an accounting connection?
No. Start with document evidence, review queues, collaboration and close preparation inside KOI. External ledger records and provider write-back require a supported connection. KOI also has native accounting controls; discuss the book and workflow scope your team needs.
Does KOI approve its own AI output?
No. A person must approve proposals before write-back. Optional policies can evaluate and log which proposals meet their conditions, but automatic approval is currently unavailable. The AI cannot authorise posting.
Is every connector feature identical?
No. Supported records, reconciliation effects, attachments and write-back vary by provider, plan, region, permissions and live certification. We will confirm the exact workflow before adoption.
